Wildwood Real Estate Information

One of the larger suburbs in the St. Louis metro area, Wildwood, Missouri, lies on almost 65 square miles of land within the far western portion of St. Louis County, out in the third ring. As of estimates made in 2005, the city was home to a population of around 35,000. The community is in a desirable location and is an upscale area, with residents having median household annual incomes in 2007 of nearly $114,000, one of the highest averages in all of the region.

Wildwood is about 35 miles west of downtown St. Louis, and it was only recently incorporated, in 1995. It sits just west of the exclusive Country Club of St.Albans , home of the top-rated golf course in all of the state, and also to some very exclusive and exquisite homes in the golf course community. The nearest hospital is just eight miles away in nearby Chesterfield. Residents come together to buy and sell produce and other items every Saturday during the months of May through October at a local farmers market.

There are several public elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school serving the younger generation of residents inWildwood. A private K-12 school is also available within the St. Albans community. There are many colleges and universities, both two- and four-year, within a 30-minute drive of the city, and the cityitself is home to a new campus of the St. Louis Community College system.

There are plenty of attractions nearby, with Cherry Hill Country Club for golfers, Greensfelder County Park, Babler State Park and Rockwoods Range for those who enjoy the outdoors, and two bodies of water, Charles Fessen Lake and Paul Goessling Lake, to enjoy in the summer. Just a short drive away, residents can find the family-friendly attractions Hidden Valley Ski Resort and Six Flags St. Louis.
