The community was home to only around 320 residents at the 2000 census, but those residents had a median household income in 2007 of more than $224,000, and their median house or condo value was nearly $1.5 million, making it a desirable neighborhood for those looking for a house where high home values are a constant.

The neighborhood is located in one square mile and is within the confines of St. Louis County, just west of Old Warson Country Club. It is less than 20 miles from downtown St. Louis and just south of I-64 and east of I-270, giving residents convenient accessibility to commute in to St. Louis or other surrounding areas for work, school or leisure activities. The community sits at an elevation of 554 feet, and it was first officially incorporated as a city in 1929.

The community has a very low crime rate and is safe for families and children. As of 2007, there were no sex offenders registered as living within the community, which might help put parents' minds at ease. Residents can find medical attention and care with the nearest hospital just two miles away,Shriners Hospital for Children. The majority of residents living in Huntleigh Village are employed within the professional, scientific, and technical services, construction and health care industries. Though there are no colleges physically located here, Saint Louis Community College-Meramec is just three miles away and Webster University is just four miles away.
