An exclusive upscale community, St. Albans, Missouri, is a community located within and along a golf course, in the Country Club of St. Albans near the St. Louis metropolitan area. The course was rated the No. 1 golf course in the state by Golf Digest Magazine and draws many visitors looking to play a round or two in the warmer months of the year. The complex is home to two championship golf courses,TavernCreek and Lewis & Clark.
There is a post office within the village and Heads, a local bodega/convenience store founded by residents in 1893. There are jogging trails, tennis courts, playgrounds and beaches along the lakes for members to enjoy and a pool at the clubhouse. The course has three dining options, the more casual Tavern Creek Grill, the bistro-style Lewis and Clark Dining Room and the Men's 19th Hole, and the historic Gardens at Malmaison restaurant. During the summer months, the club's pool hosts a swimming program teaching member children the fundamentals of swimming.
The areas within the St. Albans community include the Bluffs, Cedars Valley, The Summit, The Moors, Spring Valley, Deer Valley, The Hollows, The Meadows, The Heathers, Timber Trace, The Vineyards The Villas and The Village. For visitors and guests, check out the Studio Inn at St.Albans . The community is situated in valleys that once housed a wildlife refuge and it encompasses 5,400 acres that were purchased by a group of investors in 1988. The course construction began in 1991 and opened in 1992. The club counts more than 800 members. The Fulton School is a private K-12 school within the community that has an enrollment of about 150.
